One Down, One To Go

Today I got my acceptance letter from Cal State University Dominquez Hills, my back up school. Hopefully this winter Ill get the same news from Long Beach :)

U2 @ The Rose Bowl

Last weekend I went to the U2 concert at the Rose Bowl with my parents, Curtis and nearly 100,000 of our closest friends. The crowds were pretty exhausting, but the concert was pretty sweet.

This is the shuttle that we almost died on.


The stage was HUGE.


The Black Eyed Peas were the opening band. This is everyone's cell phones with all the lights out.

Slash made a special appearance and did Sweet Child of Mine with Fergie.

I could never really get a good crowd shot with my camera. The best idea I can give you of how many people were there is with this video.

All In The Family

This week in photography I was finally able to make prints of my photo shoot with my sister! For the assignment I have to turn in 5 prints of the same image: 1 test strip (exposing the paper in two second increments so you can determine the best exposure time), and 1 print with each contrast filter 1-4. I have all those, and three others I was able to squeeze in.

The next two are other images I wanted to print based on the negatives. However, I was to impatient/eager/stingy with my paper to make test strips sooooo I just did the same exposure time. It was too much. So, they are a little dark. I am going to re-do them next Monday.

This last one was my sister's favorite so
I made sure to print it for her.

Oh, and I also did something awesome this weekend that had nothing to do with school! But, I have an exam in the morning that I need to start studying for so I dont have time to post the pictures (and videos!) right now.. so ill keep you guessing! Look for a post by Friday :)

Positively Negatives

So... this is kind of turning into a photo blog for the time being.. I realized I don't really have anything going on except for school and the most interesting thing going on with school is my photography class. (Well, I find my sociology and criminology classes to be extremely interesting but photography is probably the most mutually interesting..)

Anyway, this week my assignment was to take 24 exposures of one subject. I chose my sister, Emily. We were to shoot the roll of film, then process it ourselves. Fortunately, I processed my film properly (yay!). Here are my resulting negatives. They scanned kind of rough.. they are really a lot lighter, of better quality and less creepy, but here they are anyway:

Next Monday I am going to be able to make prints from these negatives. I am only required to turn in one but I imagine I will probably wind up doing my top three or four favorites.
